Empowerment Clubhouse
Overview
The MCCDC Empowerment Clubhouse is a proud member of the Clubhouse International (clubhouse-intl.org). Established in 2017, the Empowerment Clubhouse is a recovery-oriented, strengths-based community mental health organization serving individuals recovering from mental illness and associated psychosocial stressors. Joining Empowerment Clubhouse is entirely voluntary, free, and available to any Marin County resident over 18 years of age living with a mental health disorder.
The Empowerment Clubhouse provides members with opportunities to build long-term relationships that, in turn, support them in obtaining employment, education and housing, including:

a work-ordered day in which the talents and abilities of members are recognized and utilized within the Clubhouse;

participation in consensus-based decision-making regarding all important matters relating to the running of the Clubhouse;

opportunities to obtain paid employment in the local labor market through a Clubhouse-created Transitional Employment Program. In addition, members participate in Clubhouse-supported and Independent programs;

assistance in accessing community-based educational resources;

access to crisis intervention services when needed;

evening/weekend social and recreational events; and
-
assistance in securing and sustaining safe, decent and affordable housing.
Mission
The Empowerment Clubhouse mission is to end the social and economic isolation for people with mental illness by providing dynamic programs and services so they can achieve their goals gain meaningful employment, and thrive.
Vision
The Empowerment Clubhouse vision is to build a world where people who have mental illness are known for their talents, contributions, and become an integral part of society.
