Melissa Cadet, Executive Director of MCCDC, submits an Empowerment Clubhouse grant proposal to Marin County’s Department of Health and Human Services.

MCCDC is awarded an MHSA grant by Marin Health & Human Services to establish and operate Empowerment Clubhouse for three years.
November 13, 2017
Empowerment Clubhouse’s first three members are enrolled in the program and begin planning the Grand Opening with EC staff generalists.
November 29, 2017
Empowerment Clubhouse opens its doors for the first time, and hosts over 60 people at the Grand Opening.
March 13, 2018
Member Sylvia Bynum, Executive Director Dr. Cadet, Human Resources Director Blia Xiong, and Program Coordinator Brianna Izaguirre take off to St. Louis, to attend Clubhouse International Colleague Training at Independence Center, the second oldest Clubhouse in the world.
MCCDC purchases a brand new 2018 10-seat passenger van for Empowerment Clubhouse use, with Marin County Community Support Services (CSS) grant award.
May 3, 2018
Empowerment Clubhouse hosts its first EC Advisory Board meeting, securing 10 leaders in the community to offer support and guidance to our Clubhouse community.
Empowerment Clubhouse becomes an official member of Clubhouse International, listed on the multi-national website, and one step closer to Clubhouse International Accreditation.
- Empowerment Clubhouse welcomes its current Clubhouse Director, Gregory Katzen to the team.
- Empowerment Clubhouse hosts a partnership with the Agricultural Institute of Marin (AIM) and hosts the Rolling Root launch in Marin City.
- Empowerment Clubhouse hosts its first annual Open House.
