MCCDC Mission Statement

The Marin City Community Development Corporation (MCCDC) was organized in 1979 to promote the economic well-being of members of the Marin City community. Recognizing the power of community support for its residents, we advocate for full employment and economic self-sufficiency through building skills and creating income generating programs. As a business oriented organization, we make available asset development programs to assist members in improving their present economic condition.

Department of Rehabilitation Services (DOR) Program
Marin City Community Development Corporation (MCCDC) offers a Rehabilitation Services Program to support the vocational development of unemployed and underemployed clients/consumers referred to MCCDC by the State of California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). These services are selected and authorized by the appointed DOR Counselors and the client/consumer prior to referral to MCCDC.

Coffee Works Job Readiness Program
The Coffee Works Job Readiness Program is the point of entry for anyone seeking employment placement and job retention services. Coffee Works provides an inviting and resource-filled environment where job search strategies and job leads are highlighted weekly. Clients/Consumers meet together to network, build community with other jobseekers, and learn how to get and keep the job you want.

Construction Training Program
The Construction Training Program (CTP) in partnership with The Marin Community Foundation will lead participants to construction career progression and high living wage opportunities. CTP participants complete the first 12 steps to construction union membership and advancement in their chosen construction pathway. Participants complete an 8 week Construction Boot Camp that includes a Construction Skill Assessment to ensure that their skill set aligns with their chosen construction career. Participants prepare for and pass a series of math tests required for entry into the union. The 8 week Construction Boot Camp includes soft skills training and a 3 week rotation in the construction field of their choice. Supportive services and resource referrals ensure each participant’s success in the program.

Below Market Rate (BMR) Affordable Homeownership Program
The Below Market Rate (BMR) Affordable Homeownership Program offers low-to-moderate income (LMI) and first time home buyers the opportunity to purchase specified condominium units and homes in Marin County at less than market value. MCCDC assists individuals and families with the application process and hosts regular BMR and financial education workshops. This service is provided through a partnership with the Marin County Housing Authority.

Free Tax Preparation Services
In partnership with United Way’s Earn it, Keep it, Save it Program, MCCDC is a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) partnering site, providing free tax preparation services to low-to-moderate income families in Marin City and Marin County. MCCDC offers VITA/free tax preparation services during the annual tax season, from January 1st through the tax deadline in April 15th of each year.
