What is the Empowerment Clubhouse?

The Empowerment Clubhouse is a community center open to those with mental health challenges, coming together to develop skills, gain employment and find community resources. The Empowerment Clubhouse is a member of the Clubhouse International, which is a multinational nonprofit organization that has well over 340 national and international sites. Clubhouse International is an organization which creates a safe haven for people with mental health challenges to develop their skills and give workforce training.  It is recognized as a SAMHSA best practices model for member-driven mental health recovery using the work-ordered day process.

Why join the Empowerment Clubhouse?

  • Members will govern the “day to day” decisions   concerning the Clubhouse.
  • Members will develop skills leading to self-sufficiency.
  • Members will participate in social and recreational activities, and develop lasting friendships (i.e. outings, special events).
  • Members will learn culinary skills.
  • Members will have access to job training and transitional employment. 

Who is eligible to become an Empowerment Clubhouse member?

  • A person must have a diagnosed mental health challenge.
  • A person must be a least 18 years of age.
  • A person must be a resident of Marin County.
