MCCDC Rehabilitation Services Program Description

Marin City Community Development Corporation (MCCDC) offers a Vocational Rehabilitation Services Program to support the vocational development of unemployed and underemployed adults supported by the State of California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) to help those recovering from a physical, emotional, or mental challenge to prepare for or re-enter the workforce.

Who is Eligible?

  • Candidates must be unemployed or underemployed.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Candidates must be a resident of Marin County.
  • Participants must have an active authorization and referral form on file at MCCDC from DOR.

What Services are provided?

  • Simulated Work Experience - a short term evaluation of an individual’s skills using a real work environment.
  • Job Search Assistance - Learn Job Search techniques; Interview skills; Resume writing; and how to dress for success.
  • Work Adjustment Placement - Offers the opportunity to learn or re-establish skills, attitudes, work tolerances and behaviors appropriate and necessary for employment.
  • Employment Services – Provides assistance with job placement by working with both employers and participants to ensure satisfaction in job placement.
  • Job Coaching - Provides on-site support services such as; job orientation; teaching job tasks; and offering support and counseling for both participant and employer to ensure job satisfaction and maintain employment.

Provide participants with an Individualized Service Plan (ISPs) to achieve long-term job and workforce success.
Support the health and wellbeing of Marin County individuals and families.
Enhance the quality of life and job acquisition and retention rates of program participants.
Reduce individual barriers to employment; build individual resilience and capacity to achieve economic self-sufficiency.

Restore and or improve functioning needed to get and retain living wage jobs and careers.
Support the integration of individuals and families into viable career pathways.
Provide culturally appropriate referrals to employers and consumers to overcome barriers to success and improve communications between employers and staff.
